I tell many stories of "children and their imaginary friends" (that may not be so imaginary) because I'm constantly hearing them on the tour. This is a new one.
A girl on my tour said she and her husband would hear their 3 year old daughter talking after they'd put her to bed. She would say things like "mommy and I went to the park, mommy and I went out to lunch", where and what she had to eat and generally recount her day. One night she listened at the door and for the first time noticed there was a pause after everything she said. She asked her who she was talking to. The 3 year old calmly replied, "the old lady, she likes to hear about my day". She was a little freaked out but didn't want to alarm her daughter so she left it at that but then called her aunt for advise. She said, "you need to find out if this is a good thing or a bad thing". She didn't go into a lot of details but said she went into her daughters room and asked the spirit If her daughter was safe with her around, she needed to know if this was a good thing or a bad thing. The next day she noticed a dirty smudge over her daughters bed in the shape of a cross. She said "it worked for me" and no longer worried about it. Ask and ye shall receive.
