I had a couple on my tour that said their house cleaner refused to clean after dark, said the house was haunted. Nothing had ever happened to them but the wife said they had put their dog on doggy tranquilizers because it kept barking in the hall. I immediately added in "whats with pets constantly looking at the upper corner of a room?" You're right she said, it was always one upper corner of the hall the dog kept yapping at. They have two small children so I gave them a heads up about my opinion on children and their "imaginary friends". Half kidding (half not) they said they were going back to Virginia Beach and sell the house. You've got to have a sense of humor in this world or it's not going to be a pleasant journey.
On a similar note on another tour a women told me she was an administrator in a nursing home. I get a lot of stories from people who work in nursing homes. She was checking on things in a room when the occupant asked her to open the window. It startled her and she asked the women to repeat herself because that women had not spoken in 4 years. She said she spoke very clearly. When she did repeat herself, again very clearly, she told her that the window did not open (central AC/heat installed years ago they didn't need to any more). The women told her she needed the window opened so her soul could get out. She was so freaked out she called a maintenance man and between the two of them they were able to get it open. She died moments later.
