Spirits can come through your basic haunting's like sounds, smells, apparitions. There is also children "and their imaginary friends". Recently I've heard two who came through dreams. One was a women who had lost her two sons. She was gone all Winter and when she returned she found two unremarkable pair of small collectible shoes covered in rhinestones that had several missing, one red and one was green. She thanked the women who cleaned and looked after the house when she was away but she didn't know anything about them.
She had a friend who knew the son's names but had never met her son Cory who had passed away. The friend told her she had a very vivid dream where she was having a conversation with Cory, he referred to the shoes and hoped she'd like them. In the dream she asked him why would she, they didn't even match? In her dream one was green and the other was red and they were nothing special. This women had never mentioned it to the friend and 6 months had gone by since she found them. I bet those shoes are her favorites in her collection now.
Then I had a guy on my tour that was renting a room with his wife in one of the older historic homes. He had a very vivid dream, normally he did not remember his dreams but this one he did. He was in the room they were renting. There was a women on the bed, not his wife dressed in old time clothes. He handed her a pistol and she blew her brains out. Assisted suicide I think. In those days if you were in a lot of pain and whiskey didn't work you were out of luck.
