I told them because of the number and some places being closed I was creating the tour as we went along and please be patient. They were a great group and we all had a great time but it started off bizarre and stayed that way until the very end. Strange, strange, strange!
The pub I usually start at was closed so I made arrangements with the one next door at the last minute. The Moon River Brewing Company hosted one of the Syfy channel's ghost programs and called the room we were in one of the most haunted they had ever been in. It did not let us down.
I tell people to take a lot of pictures and right away a girl approached me on the sidewalk to say she was probably "stretching it" but it looked like she got a picture of a man in the window. I looked at it and it was no stretch. I showed her a picture of a full body apparition and she agreed, that was definitely a man looking through the window (on the second floor).
The strangest thing that happened was the quarters. I was in front of the 1790 telling the story of the orphaned servant boy who used to save his pennies and the current owners used to find shinny pennies everywhere until he was kidding around one day and mentioned to a group of young girls when he bought the B&B he took out a million dollar mortgage and you would think the little boy could leave them quarters. I have told this story before and you can guess the rest. Right after completing the story, my back was to the front entrance, the tour was in the street facing me and I heard coins hit the ground. They didn't come from the side or fly from over head. They appeared to have fallen from straight above to just behind me. Several people on the tour saw them and said it was quarters. I was a little freaked and it was time to move the tour along but when we got to the corner of the building I decided to run back and look. I found one, ran back and kept the tour moving still unsure if someone had pulled a fast on me. I went back the next day and found nothing.
The same girl that got the picture of the face later got fog at the cemetery in one frame but not in any of the dozen of frames she took before or after that one fog filled frame right after I was telling a story about the people in the 911 call center next to the cemetery seeing fog like formations at night on fog-less nights. She also got squiggly white lines (not unheard of there) in a frame that were not there before or after. If you're taking pictures and you get something in all the frames it's probably a reflection or some other explanation but if it does't appear before or after (take a lot of pictures) you might have something.
At the end of the tour someone said they would like to leave me a larger tip but all they had was $13. At the beginning of the tour, Andrea who works in the store where we start was saying something about special numbers. I didn't know what she was talking about. I once had a couple on my tour who had no cash, were leaving the next day and mailed me a $13 tip from Japan on hotel stationary with a note saying how much they enjoyed the tour and that 13 was a special number for them.
I know a tour guide who includes the Moon River Brewing Company on his tour and someone on my tour told me they were upstairs with him and he told them they could stay but he was going back down stairs. "Something had just touched him." My thoughts on the whole night was that girl was one of "those people" who relates to spirits and she picked up something at the beginning of the night that followed us around (not unheard of) and/or those quarters were a very well played out gag by someone on the tour. What ever, it was a very strange night.
