I had a great tour last night. Often people sign up for the tour with a friend or significant other not knowing anyone else and go off afterwards with plans to grab another drink or something to eat with each other. It's the people on the tours that really make it for me and each other.
I've got another child story and then I'm going to segue into something else that has come across my haunting radar, signs.
A girl on my tour told me her father bought a house in Iowa on the cheap. The seller told her father his son used to shoot out the windows in the basement where he lived so he had installed bullet proof ones (what seller in his right mind???) and then disappeared never to be seen again. She said it gave everyone in the family the creeps to go down there including the not-so-nice family German Shepherd. Her father installed dehumidifiers thinking that would make the space usable but finally gave up. There were two people in the family who had no problems, her two younger sisters. Eventually they sold and moved to Alabama where the problems started. The two younger sisters started complaining something was in their room, was scaring them and couldn't sleep at night. Her older brother was a Catholic priest, was brought into the discussion, came for a visit and painted some signs on the walls. She wasn't sure what or what for but the problem immediately stopped. This is just the first in a line of stories that involve signs that solve disturbing hauntings. My question is is it the belief on the part of the living (two little girls) or the belief of the part of the dead? Follow along for more along this line. It's not all religious.
