One of the favorites topics on my tour and one in which a surprising amount of people have had experiences with is children and their imaginary friends. I will be adding the stories I’ve already collected and from time to time I'll add them as I hear a new one.
I’m now a firm believer that children and their imaginary friends may not be so imaginary. When you come across one, don’t be so easy to discount it. If the child isn't frightened there’s no need to worry. If they are you will have to take some action. They usually fade over time and the author of a book I was reading had a good opinion on the subject and why they might fade away.
He believed that a lot of children are born with a psychic gift but lost it over time as they started to use their other senses like sight, smell, hearing and reasoning. Also kids don’t have all that garbage in their heads and most don’t even know Santa Claus doesn't exist. They’re wide open to any experience.
I had a guy on my tour tell me he and his wife could hear their son at night on the baby monitor talking baby talk and laughing half the night. Maybe a deceased relative who loved children keeping their grandchild entertained?
As with any haunting/spiritual experience it's important to be patient, don't discourage the child and take notes. Times of the day/week/year, location in the house and a good description may give you some clue as to "who" you're dealing with. Remember, the dead can't harm you, just the living.
