There's the famous story, at least I think it's been making the rounds, of a "comfort" cat (think comfort dog) that would go and lie on the bed of the patient in a nursing home that was next to go. Can you say shoo, shoo!
A girl on the tour last night told me that just before someone would die in the family they would hear someone in the attic walking around. One time her grandmother was in the hospital, they heard the foot steps and right after that the phone rang, it was the hospital, she had passed. They were in a hurry to get out the door to see to things and they heard to foot steps again. They were all confused because she was already gone but her grandfather solved the mystery. He shouted, hurry, the foot steps are for me. He died on the way to the hospital.
Now, I know this one is a bit far fetched but the girl that told me was there when it happened, seemed reasonable and rational, the death bed introductions I've heard from many sources and the cat, well, I've heard that in a bunch of places too but no one directly connected. It is what it is.
